My favorite part of the book was when Nina found out that doing nice things for others can make you feel nice inside. My “simple truth”; do to others as you want done to you. I donated my personal spending money to help kids in other countries have fresh clean water.

  2. Anna Lynn G.

My favorite part of the book was when Nina fixes Thomas’s cape. My “simple truth” is when you do something good you can expect to feel good in return. One good thing I did was give money to “Children’s Hunger Fund” which help kids and their families get food, clean water, and they get to hear the Bible.

My favorite part of the book is when Nina goes around and does nice things for everybody in her neighborhood. I really liked when she made brownies for Mr. Dembrowski because she hadn’t seen him in a long time. My “simple truth” is to treat others the way you would like to be treated. I like doing nice things for others for no reason at all, there may be a time when I need help too. It reminded me of times I do things for my family and friends. It makes me feel good to help and give to others. I know I would like it if someone helped me. One thing I did over the summer was help a couple of my friends to practice for dance competition tryouts. I love to dance so being able to help not only helped them, but made me feel great as well!

My favorite part of the book, “The Summer I Saved the World in 65 Days,” is when Nina babysat Thomas while his mom went shopping. This part was great because she did so many nice things for him in just one day. When she sewed Thomas’s superhero cape, it reminded me of me helping my superhero-loving brother this summer. At the beach, my brother was climbing out of my Papa’s kayak and slipped into the bay, slicing up his legs and feet on the barnacles. As he fell I grabbed his arm, keeping him from falling all the way into the water. For the next few days I made it my job to help him apply hydrogen peroxide and antibiotic cream to stop the cuts from getting infected.

My Favorite part in,”The Summer I Saved the World in 65 Days” is when Nina planted Mrs.Chung’s marigolds. My, “simple truth” is that, everything that happens will make you stronger. Some thing I have done this summer that was a good deed is that I went to summer camp and I helped my bunk mate through some anxiety about being away from home.

My favorite part of the summer I saved the world in 65 days is the very end when everybody sits in Ninas driveway I felt this was unique because in the modern day world people rarely speak to let alone know their neighbor. It was a rare collection not of neighbors but friends.

My favorite part of “The Summer I Saved the World in 65 Days” was when Nina baby sat Thomas because that was very nice of her to do when his mother was late for work. My simple truth is to treat others the way you want to be treated. I also loved when Nina was determined to finish all of her goods in the 65 days. One nice thing i did this summer was help a girl at my gymnastics gym with her confidence that she could do the routine.

My favorite part of “The Summer I Saved The World In 65 Days” is when Nina mended Thomas’ cape and convinced him it was a superhero that did it. My “Simple Truth” is that you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. A good deed I did this summer was help a friend that had just lost a family member get through it in a healthy way.

  12. Leeann L.

My favorite part of ” The summer I saved the world in 65 days” is when Eli came to Nina’s house to ask for help when Eli and Thomas were making pasta for thier mom. Then Jorie came over to help and interrupted Nina from helping. Nina was mad at herself for letting Jorie take over. My “Simple true” is you should always be kind and treat others like you would want to be treated.
A good deed that I did this summer was helping out at the church service center to get clothes and school supplies ready for children in need.

Personally, what I most enjoyed about The Summer I Saved the World in 65 Days was how Nina changed how everyone viewed things in their lives in a positive way at the end. I also like how when things didn’t go entirely as she had planned, she didnt let tbat stop her and she saw this change as good. An example of this is when Ellie found out about Nina’s plan to do good things for their neighbors , yet she continued to help those closest to her.

  14. Benjamin A.

My favorite part of the book Summer I Saved the World in 65 days was the beginning when Nina starts her quest of 65 good thing during summer to try her best to make the world a better place. “My simple truth” this summer is when I volunteered to Bartow elementary academy by helping paint the teacher’s rooms. This was a good deed because the paintings and drawings decorate the school and make it have a more colorful environment for the students and teachers.

  15. Joy W.

My favorite part of the book “The Summer I Saved the World in 65 days” was when Nina stood up for Matt [her brother] and didn’t tell her parents about Matt and his friends going to the Dixon house secretly. “My simple truth” is that some things you don’t understand why or don’t want it to happen can make you tougher in other harsh situations in the future. This summer my good deed was that I baked cakes for my grandma throughout the summer.

  16. Isabel P.

My favorite part about the bok “The Summer I Saved the World in 65 Days” is when Nina took care of Tomas when Eli wasn’t ther and their mom needed to go to work. My simple truth is that giving makes you feel nice but, don’t feel like you want something in return. Something I did nice this Summer is give 2 yard works a bag of chips when I was with Anna Lynn because they were there for quite some time and it was Lunchtime so, they must have been hungry.

  17. Jorry D.

One of the most enjoyable parts for me was when Eli had a fight with his father and ran off with Nina because it gave the book a thrill for me being a reader. After she realized his family situation Nina did not judge Eli for protecting his family the way that he does. One of my “Simple Truths” are to be kind and generous like Nina by doing good things. This summer I played the piano for a private memorial service at a church that was celebrating 100 years in service.

My favorite part in the book “The Summer I Saved the World in 65 Days” was when Nina decided to fix Mr. Dembroski’s garden in the middle of the night after the memory of Nina,Eli, and Jorie ruining Mr. Dembroski’s flowers when they were younger. This is my favorite part because even though it was many years ago that she trampled the garden she still fixed it. My “simple truth” is if you work hard enough you can achieve your goal.

This book taught me and everyone who read it a great lesson. You learn how to treat others even though you have not seen them in a while or do not really know them , for instance when Nina gave Mr.Debrowski brownies though she did not really know him. My “Simple Truth” would most surrtantly be treat others the way you want to be treated. And for people who have not read “The Summer I Saved the World in 65 Days” I highly recommend the book.

My favorite part in “The Summer I Saved the World in 65 Days” is when Nina told Thomas that the Cantaloni boys needed a catcher when they were playing baseball because Thomas got to play with other kids his age instead of by himself. My “Simple Truth” is everyone deserves a chance and is valuable. This summer I made a difference by recycling every water bottle, canned drink and empty cardboard boxes I had. My favorite part of the book, “The summer I saved the World in 65 days” was when Mrs. Cantaloni went into labor but the whole community was together helping everyone out. It was in that night that the whole cul-de-sac came together as a union and they became even closer. That is when Nina’s little flame grew bigger towards others and she realized that good can overcome everything. My simple truth is, to always be grateful for what you have. Another simple truth is to fight things with love, not fear, nor hate. I highly recommend this book because it is an inspiration to others to start the good in the world. One good thing that I did this summer was help our community in Wahneta to come to the love of God and listen to His word.
